A 17-year-old girl, Ruby, has lost her life after six doctors “failed to distinguish her tumors” even though she did several examinations, her disease was hidden.
The teenager suffered with increasing shoulder pain, fatigue and a swollen face for weeks – but even though she had some symptoms, the doctors said that they are normal things and she is fine.
Blood tests were done, but they did not reveal anything alarming. The 17-year-old’s mother was so worried that she asked a doctor “could these be signs of cancer”.
But they laughed strangely and said “no, she is still 17 years old, she is very young”. Although the girl had visited six different doctors, no one told her that she has a bad disease, but everything seemed normal.
After the disease had become more aggressive, the mother sent the girl to the seventh doctor, where he finally discovered that she was sick with a serious disease. She had a tumor for over 6 months. Although the girl fought to defeat this disease, she could not succeed. And three weeks later she died.
The 17-year-old’s parents are campaigning tirelessly to raise awareness of the symptoms and speed up diagnosis. Therefore, if the disease is caught in the first steps, everything could go very well, but if the disease is caught in the last stage, it is very difficult to prevent it.
