Adele Makes Devastating Career Announcement: ‘I Will Not See You For An Incredibly Long Time’

Adele recently delivered an emotional update about her career’s future during a live performance in Munich.

The 36-year-old “Someone Like You” singer is nearing the end of her Las Vegas residency, and her concert on August 31 in Munich marked her final scheduled performance in Europe.

During the show, Adele shared with the audience that she plans to take an extended hiatus from both touring and making music.

Reflecting on her career, the “Easy on Me” singer admitted, “I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very fucking good at it. And I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I’ll ever do.”

Adele then addressed her plans moving forward, revealing that she intends to step away from the spotlight for a while.

“I have 10 shows left after this,” she said. “After that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time. I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break, and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years. It has been amazing, I just need a rest.”

She also explained her decision to take a break, emphasizing her desire to enjoy the “new life” she has created for herself.

“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now,” she shared. “I will remember these shows for eternity, they have been spectacular.”

Adele’s tour was initially set to conclude at Munich’s 80,000-capacity Messe München Arena, but she had to reschedule several Las Vegas residency dates after falling ill.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their support, with one person writing, “Take all the time you need, live the life you’ve always been dreaming of. We’ll be here when you’re ready.” Another fan commented, “Why am I so emotional watching this,” while a third added, “I’m gonna miss her.”

During her extended break, Adele has much to look forward to, including her recent engagement to American sports agent Rich Paul, which she hinted at during a Munich performance on August 9. When a fan jokingly proposed, Adele responded, “I can’t marry you, I’m already getting married. But I appreciate it.”
