When Jennifer Lopez walked the red carpet in Toronto for her new movie, Unstoppable, her sparkly silver revenge dress was cut all the way down the side, revealing the actress’s ribcage. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that there was something missing: the “commitment” tattoo that Lopez showed off on Valentine’s Day 2023.
The commitment tattoo—which is what she captioned the shot on Instagram—was an infinity symbol with a Cupid’s arrow and the names “Jennifer” and “Ben” around the outline. It was on the left side of her rib cage, but wasn’t peeking out between the bows of her Tamara Ralph gown. Of course, it could just be a case of strategically placed body makeup, but Lopez covering up the tribute does send a clear message.
Marie Claire adds that Affleck also got a tattoo to honor the relationship: two arrows with the initials “J” and “B.” According to Yahoo, the now-missing tattoo was the only ink Lopez shared publicly. When she showed it off, she added the hashtags #CommitmentIsSexy, #ThisIsUsThen, #ThisIsUsNow, and #ThisIsMeNow. Those all referenced her relationship with Affleck and her albums, This Is Me…Then and This Is Me…Now.

Lopez and Affleck famously met on the set of Gigli. They got engaged by the end of 2002, postponed the wedding, and broke up in 2004. They reconnected in 2021 and got married a year later before Lopez filed for divorce earlier this year on August 20, the two-year anniversary of their lavish Georgia wedding ceremony. In court filings, Lopez noted that their date of separation was April 26.
“The timing of the divorce was a big fuck you to Ben,” an insider told Us Weekly after news of the divorce made headlines.
